John Cage
September 5, 1912 – August 12, 1992
John Cage was an artist but wasn't a painter. Glenn talked a little about him in class and he talked about this certain piece above played by an orchestra watch it and you will be confused. The piece is called "4'33" and it is not meant to be 4 min 33 sec of silence but its meant for you to hear ur surroundings and all the natural sounds around you.It just goes to show how something so pointless can be so brilliant in the eyes of certain people. here he talks of how he looks at it.
I personally like this piece from him its weird and very simple but theirs something about it that i like.
I know that after watching these videos alot of you will have something to say because this guy is one of a kind.

BOMB IT
So after watching the documentary BOMB IT I got to see different sides of how people look at graffitti. On one side young people that write graffitti look at it as a form to express themselves and in a way to advertise and voice their opinions which are not often heard or taken seriously and by drawing on a billboard or on walls they can get peoples attention. On the other side there are people that are against it and to some extent they are right to be against it because it does cost millions of dollars of damages all over the world wether it's somebodys house, car, place of bussineess, company ad, or any public place.
In my opinion they are both right to some extent. WRITERS are right because not all graffitti is meant to cause dameages, on the contrary, it is meant to make things look better like on depleted buildings or poor neighborhoods and like one Writer said in the movie "Art must serve a cause" and that's why he writes all over Paris focusing on the poverty. Also some people against it are right because not all graffitti is meant to be art and to serve a purpose but on the contrary it is meant to deface somebody elses property. In conclusion I think that most graffitti is an art and there should be more places for people to write because punishment for getting caught doing it illegally can be really harsh in some countries. Now let me know what u guys think about graffitti after watching BOMB IT

The matrix and Lascaux
In class today we watched some parts of the matrix and something I found interesting was that Morpheus said "we are all slaves" and when I got to thinking about it, some people are like that in reality just working to survive and in a way that seems like slavery to me or what do u guys think about that? Also I found the Lascaux cave fascinating and I would like to one day visit it.
